There is very good news from the International Standards Organization that the ISO Technical Management Board has decided to develop an International Standard on Asset Management. This is a chance to incorporate knowledge, techniques and good practice from all around the world within a single set of requirements.
The starting point will be the British Standards Institute's PAS55. With the assistance of global asset management professionals, we expect an already good document to quickly become the global standard for Asset Management framework in leading organizations.
If this topic is of interest, you may wish to consider attending "What’s PAS 55 and ISO? — Asset Management Process by Ramesh Gulati, CMRP, and Christopher Mears,CMRP, ATA/AEDC; and Terrence O’Hanlon, CMRP, Reliabilityweb.com Inc." in the Manufacturing and Process Reliability Track at this years SMRP Annual Conference (11:15 am Tuesday October 19)
The MRO-Zone.com Bookstore will also have limited copies of the PAS55 Asset Management Specification at the SMRP Annual Conference.
